The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme supports trans-European networks and infrastructures in the sectors of transport, telecommunications and energy. CEF is the financing instrument for developing building blocks and Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs), which deliver networked cross-border services for citizens, businesses and public administrations. The CEF building blocks (eDelivery, eID, eInvoicing, eSignature and eTranslation) provide basic services which can be reused to enable more complex digital public services.
The ‘once-only‘ principle is in the center of those services: a core element of the EU’s eGovernment Action Plan, that describes how citizens and businesses should be able to provide information once, and have that data shared and re-used with other public administrations.
