First TOOP General Assembly in Riga

The first TOOP beneficiary plenary meeting (General Assembly) was held on 16 November 2017 in Riga. The meeting was preceded by a Piloting Day on 15 November 2017, which was devoted to piloting activities. The Piloting Work Package, with the contribution of particular Member States’ Beneficiary Managers, provided an overview of current piloting preparations in each Member State. As part of this, the idea of how to create a General Once-Only Principle Reference Architecture and related requirements for each participating country were presented.

The General Assembly was inaugurated by Jean-François Junger, Deputy Head of Unit “Public Services” of the European Commission’s Directorate General “DG Connect” giving a presentation on current EU initiatives supporting the implementation of the Once-Only Principle (OOP) and on how to align the project’s work with requirements described in the current proposal on a Single Digital Gateway Regulation. During the whole-day meeting, various topics were presented and discussed, aligning TOOP architecture developments, piloting implementation works and current status, a communication strategy for the project and administrative procedures. Finally, the meeting was summarised by the Project Coordinator, Prof. Robert Krimmer, who answered the Beneficiary Managers’ questions and carried out the wrap-up session.
