Germany strengthens its focus on OOP

Between 27th and 29th May 2019, the Future Congress took place in Berlin, where participants from administrations and companies discussed the best way for digitization in Germany.

This year, the special focus was on the implementation of the online gateway regulation (a gateway for all services in Germany called "OZG"). The Federal Ministry of the Interior for Building and Home presented the results of the implementation of the law in one of its digitization laboratories in the area of "housing subsidies". The Once-Only Principle Project (TOOP) representatives presented the Once-Only architecture and took the opportunity to explain the connections between the German digitization actions and the Single Digital Gateway Regulation (SDGR). With the SDGR, 20 services that are compliant with the OZG services must be available online at European level by 2023. This will also make the implementation of the Once-Only Principle a central and obligatory component of digitization in Germany.
