TOOP presented at High Level Conference on Digital and eGovernment

The Austrian Presidency High Level Conference on Digital and eGovernment took place on 26th September 2018 in Vienna, Austria.

The conference was a great opportunity to discuss the achievements and the ongoing process of public sector digitalization in Europe. Once-Only Principle was featured with a dedicated session, as well as a project exhibition booth. The Principle itself was mentioned emphasized by keynote speakers as a foundation for the development of the Single Digital Market in the EU.

The European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, highlighted the importance of digitalization and its progress in the last years. She described the Once-Only Principle as one of the most important achievements related to the implementation of the Single Digital Gateway.

Andrus Ansip, the Vice-president of the European Commission, sent a written address to all participants of the conference and named the eIDAS and the Once-Only Principle as milestones for making life’s of citizens and businesses easier in future.

TOOP Project had its own session in the agenda. It was commenced by Robert Krimmer (Project coordinator) and Lefteris Leontaridis (Piloting coordinator). Later on, the achievements on national level were presented by TOOP Members: State secretary Klaus Vitt (Germany), SBR-Commissioner Rob Kuipers (Netherlands) and Dr. Alenka Zuzek Nemec (Slovenia).The session ended with a discussion on how the architecture of the Once-Only-Principle Project will make cross-border interoperability possible in future.
